When planning and booking your holiday – and even when you’re already on the road – there are so many travel websites and apps around that could help save stress and money.
Sami Lukis has a few favourites, which she shared with 9Travel.
And one of them, the seasoned traveller admits, she “cannot live without”, especially when it comes to booking and preparing for a flight.

“My favourite travel website is ‘seatguru.com’. It is incredible,” she tells us.
“What you do is you put your flight number and date of travel in and it will tell you the seating configuration of the aircraft that’s operating your flight.
“It will tell you which are the best seats and which seats to avoid, particularly if you’re going to spend a little extra money to get an exit row seat or to get a window seat.”

As a group tour host, and having travelled with friends many time before, Sami has also discovered an app that might help “keep your friendships intact”.
“If you’re travelling with a group ‘Splitwise’ is a really great app because it keeps track of all the money that you’ve spent, who’s spent what, and then it’ll do all the math and divide it up evenly,” she reveals.
“Friendships can sometimes get a little strained when you’re travelling and people can get weird about money. So this app is perfect.”
Finally, she has a tip that could see you nab a “five star hotel for a three star price”.
